OLD SHOE RECORDS AND FAR FROM FINISHED OFFER EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD OF JACKSON 5’s ‘I WANT YOU BACK’. PROCEEDS TO GO TO MARE Inc. FOR AT RISK YOUTH.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – October 20, 2009 – In the wake of the recent death of the famed King of Pop, Massachusetts’ Far From Finished have recently announced plans to offer an exclusive download of the band’s homage “I Want You Back” as originally performed by the Jackson 5. Recorded prior to the tragic death, the single will offered through ITUNES with all proceeds to go to MARE Inc.

About MARE Inc.
The Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange was founded in 1957. MARE was one of the first adoption exchanges in the United States. For over 50 years, MARE has helped to find adoptive homes for more than 5,000 children and has received national recognition for its initiatives. MARE focuses on children in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families who are ages six and older, sibling groups, and children with emotional, physical and intellectual challenges. MARE tailors its recruitment activities to meet the needs of a particular child. MARE also acts as a central clearinghouse for information and referrals regarding all types of adoption.

Recorded during the band’s brief time home between touring runs in Europe and Japan, the single was finished and has been an outstanding feature on the Old Shoe Records’ compilation Welcome To The Family Vol. 3. Becoming a must have keepsake on the nationwide Vans Warped Tour, the Far From Finished single as part of the compilation has been selling fast on every stop of the tour. Weighing the popularity of the ambitious Jackson 5 cover, Far From Finished have used their music to call awareness to the plight of foster children in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.

* There are 510,000 children in the U.S. foster care system; 129,000 of these children are available for adoption.

* More children become available for adoption each year than are adopted. In 2006, 79,000 children had parental rights terminated by the courts, yet only 51,000 were adopted.

* A child in foster care can wait up to five years to be adopted.
* The average age of the child waiting to be adopted from foster care is eight years old.

* The average number of months a child waiting to be adopted has been in foster care is 39 months.

* Each year, 20% of children (26,517 in 2006) exit foster care at age 18 without an adoptive family.

Rockers 4 Knockers: Breast Cancer Benefit Concert!

Wet-T-Shirt Show, Rock Music, Adult Games, Jello Shots, Pink Glow Sticks, Mardi Gras Beads, Suck for a Buck, etc... It may sound crude, it may sound like a bachelor/bachelorette party and you may wonder if it's in bad taste. But that is the idea when talking about Rockers 4 Knockers.

Let me explain: Rockers 4 Knockers, or (R4K), is a breast cancer benefit concert. Their mission is to raise money for breast cancer research. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation of Grand Rapids Michigan. R4K was started 2 years ago by Sydney VanderLinden and local Alternative Rap-Rock band, "Vintage".

Upon starting the search for bands to help fill the time slot we were looking to take over, by some grace of god I had come across Los Duggans. Listening to the music available on their myspace page, I instantaneously was awe struck by what they were bringing forth to the table. I loved it. I wanted more of it. I told Devilyn that we needed this band for our show, and she worked her magic, got them to sign up and got their cd sent to us in the mail.

Will economic recession and affordable access to music technology tools overcome the want for expertise, camaraderie and resource of the traditional recording studio? J Appleby gets industry opinion about the death of recording studios, but more importantly the death in the quality of music at large.

To create the best sound recordings and mix with maximum control, a proper recording studio with professional engineering has been labelled as essential. However, there are some musical styles which don’t need that sophisticated sound - R&B, Hip Hop and Trance.

Your Fan Base... an often underutilized, essential building block

In this day and age of social networking and web 2.0 there are still basic blocks, you need to build upon, that will grow your exposure and keep your fans engaged with your brand. Of all the things you do in your business of building your Brand, growing and maintaining a list or your fans is one of the basics that need your attention. This holds true whether your band is just playing, for fun, at your friends houses or is on tour across the country. The difference lies in the way that you gather and maintain that list.
